““Now, as you can see, the Lord has kept me alive and well as he promised for all these forty-five years since Moses made this promise—even while Israel wandered in the wilderness. Today I am eighty-five years old. I am as strong now as I was when Moses sent me on that journey, and I can still travel and fight as well as I could then.” – Joshua 14:10-11 NLT
It’s absolutely incredible that Caleb had the capacity he had in his younger years well into his 80s. It was clearly by God’s power that he was still operating with such virility. Here is a verse I’d like to share:
“He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:29-31 NLT
As I keep emphasizing in many of these posts, we have the same power afforded to us. Not necessarily through a physical sense, but spiritually we can go through life without falling into exhaustion. God enables us to go through life with that same vigor and stamina even into our old age.
