Claim 3: We Expect God’s Grace to Empower Us in Accomplishing Tasks for Him

“Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Even so, you have done well to share with me in my present difficulty.” – Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬-‭14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In Philippians 4:11-14, we see that Paul learned how to be content in every situation. He was in a prison cell at that time and most likely was hungry and cold. Paul was still content with God alone despite his circumstance. Paul proves at the very least we Christians can mentally go through all situations.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” – Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Proverbs 3:5-6 speaks of being able to trust in God to guide us above our own understanding. We do not have to be concerned with fears of going down the wrong path because our path is lit by God himself when we lean on his understanding rather than our own. Excuses like “I’m not smart enough to” or “I’ll just mess it up” don’t hold water since he knows exactly what to do and we only need to follow his direction. But the most important piece of evidence to support the claim is the direct power God affords us.

“By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.” – ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬ ‭NLT

God gives us the power to fulfill all of the things he calls us for. He gives us his divine power and all we need for living a godly life.

God gives us the mindset, the guidance, the power, and all of the tools for any situation he calls us to. Scripture clearly speaks to all of these things. The believer only needs to believe God and claim victory over the enemy.
