This week on my journey towards Eldership, I have continued my focus on the tongue. There seems to have been a few instances where I said things for self gain and sinful reasons apart from the glory and will of God. In these cases, I’d like to respond with Ephesians 4:29:

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” – Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭29‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Christians should only be saying useful information. For me what this looks like means, in part, I’d like to talk less, and make sure with what I do say, it is entirely productive. This is what I’ve been working on this week.
