““Praise be to the Lord, who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses.” – 1 Kings 8:56 NIV

The temple is now finished and Solomon is blessing the congregation of Israel. In this verse he is thanking the lord for the rest he has given Israel as he had promised and for not failing to be faithful to his people in fulfilling the promises to Moses. It is really easy to overlook times of rest and become entitled about them. Rest is a gift when we need it. We don’t always have it. We should learn it’s value now and develop a good relationship with it before seeking it and not readily having it.
