I think we often think ourselves wiser than those easily fooled of the Bible when reading these passages. At least I know I am guilty of this. In all reality, however, we all fall for things just as clearly a trap and apart from God daily. Let’s humble our hearts, letting ourselves be in a place of knowing we are capable of failing just as bad if not more those in the text and focus on the meaning behind the text and it’s wisdom rather than only on sin or who is or isn’t wise.
