At this point there is no distinguishing Israel from the pagans. They kill for power, worship idols, and do not obey God whatsoever. Everything that made them Israel is gone. We as Christians need to be holy and set apart from the world and never allow ourselves to be indistinguishable from it. This is his calling for us: be special and set apart. Here is a verse from God to Christians:

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” – 1 Peter 2:9 NIV
