“The elders and the people all answered, “Don’t listen to him or agree to his demands.” So he replied to Ben-Hadad’s messengers, “Tell my Lord the king, ‘Your servant will do all you demanded the first time, but this demand I cannot meet.’ ” They left and took the answer back to Ben-Hadad.” – 1 Kings 20:8-9 NIV
Compromise isn’t inherently bad. We have to compromise in life in order to get things done. The problem is when we are told to compromise on something good for the sake of evil and told to do things like give up things we are called to protect such as our wives and children. Are we supposed to give them up in those cases? No. We have a duty. Don’t compromise when it comes to sin. Don’t forsake something good for something bad. Sin is progressive and you can’t give it any ground or else it will ask for more and more. I spoke on Romans 1:20-32 and the progressive nature of sin on March 2nd in my daily posts if you want to know more about that.
