“Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was, will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? If the ministry that brought condemnation was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness! For what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory. And if what was transitory came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts!” – 2 Corinthians 3:7-11 NIV
This reminds me a lot of Romans 5:
“The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Romans 5:20-21 NIV
The law ended up showing the Jews the flaws in themselves and the fact that they are on a road to death, but there is hope in the fact that it brings something greater than the original hope to give those who seek to fulfill the law if they follow Christ instead. Have hope in Christ and don’t try to fulfill the law. We have been saved by grace and not by the law.
