“He followed the ways of the kings of Israel and even sacrificed his son in the fire, engaging in the detestable practices of the nations the Lord had driven out before the Israelites.” – 2 Kings 16:3 NIV

The story of Ahaz reminds us that no matter how much we can get closer and closer to God over multiple generations like Amaziah, Azariah, and Jotham, we are simply a step away from sacrificing our children and doing evil things. We always need to be mindful of that, be cautious and focus on God.
