“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.” – 2 Corinthians 8:9 NIV

Jesus came from Heaven where he was most definitely very rich as the Son of God and a king and he became flesh amongst the poor and impoverish to act as a servant of them on Earth and became crucified for their sake so that they might become rich in Heaven. In this, Christ shows great humility and sacrifice for our sake. Most people, I’m sure, wouldn’t be willing to give up a life of luxury to suffer and die like that for people that clearly don’t deserve lives of luxury like that, but Christ was. We need to learn to be like that in our everyday lives.
