“I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.” – Philippians 1:20 NIV

Ultimately it is God who decides how we can or cannot be useful. Paul is willing to have the final result of his imprisonment be that of either life or death. Whatever God wills for Paul he will be okay with. Paul’s focus is on doing right by God and not dishonoring him and being ashamed in his actions. We need to be okay with God choosing any choice in any part of our life and be bold enough to be willing to present it before him.
