“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” – Philippians 1:21 NIV

The reality is that when we know of God through Christ, there is only win-win situations. You see Paul was presented with 2 varying situations that both seemed to the world hard and sucky in their own ways. On one hand he could be killed, which is less than desirable, and on the other hand he could live in prison and be stuck in chains, which is also not really desirable, but Paul flips this on its head by suggesting that all options are beneficial. If one were to die then they can be with Christ in fullness they were created to be and more in Heaven. On the other hand, if one were to live then they would have a life of knowing Christ and serving him. With this we can both look forward to death and appreciate life both for what the are.
