“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” – Philippians 2:3-4 NIV
The issues we often face with quarreling and all sorts of stuff of that nature have to do with selfish ambition. At a very baseline it boils down to this: one or more parties are too focused on their own interests and the other(s) are defending against that. If we stop focusing on our interests above the interests of others and instead focus on the interests of both then there would be no need for quarreling. This doesn’t mean don’t focus on your own needs or interest at all, but it means don’t focus ONLY on your own needs and interests. Be mindful and care about other people.
