Willing to Sacrifice: Philippians 2:30

“because he almost died for the work of Christ. He risked his life to make up for the help you yourselves could not give me.” – Philippians 2:30 NIV

Epaphroditus demonstrates here how we ought to be serving Christ. Epaphroditus served Christ and Paul even to the point of being sick. He was more focused on serving Christ and doing the work of the Lord more than himself and his own health. His focus was to sacrifice himself like Christ did for the church for the sake of his mission. We ought to be willing to work to the point of sickness as well for the sake of Christ in our missions. Obviously we need to be caring for our bodies to be good stewards of them to keep them best functioning to do the work Christ has given us, but we need to be willing to give them up for the sake of Christ.
