Maintain Unity: Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭15 and Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭2‬-‭3

“All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.” – Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭15‬ ‭NIV

Paul talks about all mature Christians agreeing on the points previously discussed. An important aspect of the interaction of the body of Christ is the unity we have with one another. Here is a verse:

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” – Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭NIV

Ephesians 4:2-3 demonstrates that we are to be humble, gentle, patient, bear with one another in love, and that we ought to keep unity. An important thing in what Paul is saying is that compromise will need to happen in the Christian walk. We can know this by the words, “if on some point you think differently, that too God made clear to you.” This means a persons understanding was incorrect and was then corrected by God or “made clear”. A big part of having peace in a relationship is compromising because often times people don’t want the same things. We need to work to find a balance between needs, wants, and all sorts of other things in a way that unity is maintained.
