Rejoice in Our Awesome God: Philippians 4:4

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” – Philippians 4:4 NIV

Now we arrive at one of my favorite passages, Philippians 4:4-7. It’s also one I have it memorized at that. Paul calls us Christians to rejoice in the Lord always and repeats it. Honestly this should be obvious. Our God is a God that is infinitely powerful, intelligent beyond our imagination, everywhere at all times, is creative enough and skillful enough to create all the beautiful things of the universe including us, is morally perfect, and loves us to the point of sacrificing himself for our sake. If we aren’t rejoicing in a being like that then what are we rejoicing in? Sin? Sin doesn’t fulfill us and ends up hurting us. Not only that, but God created the framework, resources, and probably even directly a lot of the good things we enjoy. Also he saved us Christians. We should then rejoice in the one who has enabled us to experience the benefits of life as well as gifted us eternal life and always appreciate him for that. So in other words, with combining everything, it’s completely obvious for us to always rejoice in God because of his totally wonderful and epic character and the fact that he has done so much for us. Take time to rejoice in God each day and appreciate him.
