Here in Philippians Paul commands us to focus our thoughts on the things that follow the parameters he lays out. This passage is a tool for how to think. Paul gives us a guide that tells us that when we have when we face issues, we should be thinking about these types of things instead. Not only that but it also allows us to discern whether something is good or not. If it does not fall under these parameters, then it is not a good thought. So this passage is a tool to fight evil thoughts and figure out what is or isn’t an evil thought. Try to think like this in hard times.
