How Prayer Ought to Look: 1 Thessalonians 3:11-13

“Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus clear the way for us to come to you. May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.” – 1 Thessalonians 3:11-13 NIV

Here Paul demonstrates what prayer looks like. Prayer ought to be selfless where we focus on each other’s burdens and needs. Paul focuses on the difficulty of making it to visit them, the level of love they have for one other, and the strength of their hearts. We should pray for the weaknesses of others, so that way gaps in their abilities can be filled and their weaknesses may no they longer actually be weaknesses. But above all we do all things for the sake of God.
