“God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you” – 2 Thessalonians 1:6 NIV

This is something one can use to remind those who seek vengeance. We have no reason to seek to correct or “right” the wrongs done to us using our own power because God has promised that he would do that for us. God loves justice and would hate to see a wrong left without consequence and even more so would hate to see a wrong payed back with another wrong. Besides it wouldn’t even be possible to actually right the wrong out of vengeance anyway since we don’t have the authority to punish sins. That’s an authority only God can have.
