“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” – Proverbs 1:7 NIV

The fear of the Lord is a worshipping submission and reverential awe towards God our creator. If we do not submit to God and follow his will for us then we are only going against what he designed us for. That clearly is foolish. Proper wisdom and instruction can only come from God because he is the only one with authority enough to give us instruction and he is our maker and can give us the knowledge of how to do things in life in a proper way, i.e. wisdom. We need God. That’s it. Anything apart from him is sheer stupidity.
