There is an intentional highlighting of the character trait of being unwise. This is to comment in the fact that he, with his own his own worldly/childhood wisdom, could have avoided the situation he was in if he only took real wise counsel from his father and not focus on how his flesh feels. We need to prioritize what is good and overall wise over what feels good at times in life to avoid death and things that are worse for us.
