Godly people are able to take a beating because they aren’t focused on the present circumstance, but on God and on the rewards of Heaven. What’s the point of getting brought down by whatever comes your way? Revenge isn’t good and stewing on it isn’t either. Both situations mean that you are letting sin take hold. Let it go and know God will make the situation right by punishing those that have done wrong by you eventually when judgment comes. Don’t get so wrapped up in a world you no longer belong to where simple fleeting and forgetful words have so much weight that they make you sin.
