“But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.” – Hebrews 10:39 NIV
A mark of those who are destined for destruction is their lack of follow through. They may start a thing or even lots of things, but when the challenge gets tough they quit or act like cowards. The Christian isn’t supposed to act like that. They are supposed to trust that God will help them get through the tough trial and they are people that are saved from that destruction that awaits quitters and cowards. Here is a verse:
“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 1:3-6 NIV
Paul exclaims to the Philippians that because God started a good work in the Philippians in the sanctification process, he will complete it because that is his character. Paul is excited about it and places his faith on God’s words. This is the main point of Hebrews as well. The trust I spoke of is faith. Faith is what separates us from the quitters and cowards. They lack faith. Have faith in God that he will carry you through whatever trial he has allowed you to go through, have faith it’s for your benefit, and be thankful for the process.
