“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,” – Hebrews 10:24 NIV
It is very important for a Christian to focus on other Christians and their walks with Christ. It should be in our mindsets to consistently challenge each others thoughts on what is love and what is good and how to do both. A passage that partners well with this is Philippians 2:3-4, which says,
“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” – Philippians 2:3-4 NIV
Philippians pairs well with Hebrews 10:24 because they together show us that we can focus on our own interests, but that we need to focus on spurring others and taking care of others interests and needs equally if not more than our own because we value them more than ourselves. The Christian walk is about humility and selflessness and helping others as Christ had done with his own life. Let us focus on how to be a caretaker of and a giver to others needs and how to help them be more like Christ everyday.
