The Creative Christian: Daniel 1:8, 12-14 and 1 Corinthians 10:13

“But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way. “Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see.” So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days.” – Daniel 1:8, 12-14 NIV

Since we operate as a citizens of Heaven in a foreign world, we need to be thrifty with what has been given so as not to sin and we need to be strategic as well. That doesn’t mean there’s ever a way that doesn’t work. God always makes it work. Check out 1 Corinthians 10:13:

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” – 1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV

There is always a way not to sin in any situation even if it’s hard to find one. Sometimes that means getting creative. Never lose hope.
