““In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.” – Daniel 2:44 NIV

We could argue all day, about which kingdoms are the four kingdoms he’s talking about, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome, etc. but ultimately that’s not important, what is important is the kingdom that is set up that will never be destroyed. This is God’s kingdom. One thing I appreciate about God’s kingdom is that we don’t have to worry about it being replaced by an oppressive or dictative kingdom. It lasts forever and God will be good forever. Let us take heart times of hardship and pain that one day we can enjoy our God as citizens of God’s good kingdom forever.
