“On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there.” – Revelation 21:25 NIV

After evil is expunged from the world, one of the chief purposes of a gate will become useless. That is protection from outside threats as well as screening those that enter to see if they are a threat. With evil at this point being judged and sentenced, it cannot enter this world any longer and man will no longer be able to be doing things with ill will towards each other and God. As a matter of fact, there is no way at that point that a person with ill will to sin against God can exist either since evil is dead. In regards to the gate, what is there to screen when all are trustworthy, and what is there to protect from when there is no outside threat planning on getting into the city? Rejoice for God will and does protect his people and there will come a day where we no longer have to lock our doors in fear of what lurks in shadows.
