Immanuel/Christ in the Old Testament: Isaiah 7:13-15 and Isaiah 9:6

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” – Isaiah 9:6 NIV

“Then Isaiah said, “Hear now, you house of David! Is it not enough to try the patience of humans? Will you try the patience of my God also? Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. He will be eating curds and honey when he knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right,” – Isaiah 7:13-15 NIV

I keep seeing verses/passages like these that speak to the idea of God incarnating and am so baffled and confused as to how Jesus claiming his incarnate nature was such a blasphemy. The only thing a person proclaiming to be Immanuel can be wrong about is that they are the actual incarnate Immanuel. It’s not his claim that was ever the issue as he provided evidence for it and the concept is backed by scripture as well, it was the hearts of men. Make sure that your emotions and heart don’t cloud you from seeing what the Bible says as truth.
