“A prophecy concerning the animals of the Negev: Through a land of hardship and distress, of lions and lionesses, of adders and darting snakes, the envoys carry their riches on donkeys’ backs, their treasures on the humps of camels, to that unprofitable nation, – Isaiah 30:6 NIV
The Israelites were working to secure an alliance with Egypt that was ultimate unprofitable and useless. In the process they used much of the valuables that they owned. In the end the investment of their resources and capital turned to be a massive loss. This was because this wasn’t God’s will. God works for our sake and always wants what is best for us. Romans 8:28 says this:
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28 NIV
God always wants what is best for us. We need to be aware of the fact that when we work against God and his will then we are doing something that isn’t good for us.
