Don’t be Dumb: Isaiah 39:2-3 and Galatians 5:13

“Hezekiah received the envoys gladly and showed them what was in his storehouses—the silver, the gold, the spices, the fine olive oil—his entire armory and everything found among his treasures. There was nothing in his palace or in all his kingdom that Hezekiah did not show them. Then Isaiah the prophet went to King Hezekiah and asked, “What did those men say, and where did they come from?” “From a distant land,” Hezekiah replied. “They came to me from Babylon.”” – Isaiah 39:2-3 NIV

Even when we get the security of the Lord guaranteed through prophecy that does not mean that we make bad decisions in the process. We need to be thinking about our situations and how that might impact others especially in leadership. Showing everything your kingdom has to offer in terms of plunder and strength to your enemy is foolish to the max. It reminds me of all of the passages about how we were freed from sin and now we should not go on sinning. Here is Galatians 5:13:

“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” – Galatians 5:13 NIV
