“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:6-8 NIV
This verse alone shows how counter God is to everything man holds right and logical. Men would look for the person that would bring them the most use. It’s selfish focused. They wouldn’t even sacrifice for sinners because what would sinners do for them? It’s about profit rather than love. God focuses on love rather than profit. God only seeks to gain his beloved creation back and would sacrifice to get it. You cannot be a friend of the world and follow God at the same time. They have different motives. Motives that are counter to each other. Do right by God, loving what he loves and reject what the world loves. That is what it means to be a Christian.
