Infinitely Fueled: Acts 4:13, 18-20, 29-31

”When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.” Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.“ – Acts 4:13, 18-20, 29-31 NIV

It doesn’t matter who you are or what you know; God equips his servants for the work he calls us to. This is why John and Peter, though ordinary and untrained are able to come across as knowledgeable in scripture and cutting people at the heart. God gives them the words to speak. Additionally we also see them filled with the Holy Spirit equipping them to speak the word of God boldly. This type of equipping enabled them to be fearless in confronting their opposers who were clearly against them without any fear. My point is God equips all for the tasks he wants them to do regardless of what it is. Don’t fear your finiteness being the inhibitor to success in God’s kingdom. Your finiteness is ultimately fueled by an infinite God. Your finiteness shouldn’t be a factor in your decisions.
