”This is why I speak to them in parables: “Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand. In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: “ ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’ But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.“ – Matthew 13:13-16 NIV
It’s interesting that those who are seeing but do not see and hearing but do not hear cannot fully comprehend Christs message, but those of us who can hear and see can understand Christ’s message as well as the enemies. What my mind went to with this passage was the fact that we can understand the enemy because we have the context of God and his wisdom. It just makes me think how funny the idea is that there will actually be a massive Armageddon battle that the forces of good will have difficulty winning it as is a prevalent idea in today’s culture. With one side not even fully being able to understand what the other side is up to, and without good having the same issue, there is no way that could ever be an even battle. God understands his enemies and his enemies don’t understand him. This isn’t too mention that God is omnipotent and other omnis as well. Trust that there really isn’t any challenge for God in life and live according to that trust
