”Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more. I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods or take up their names on my lips.” Psalms 16:4 NIV

The nature of wrong things is that they can’t be fixed no matter how much one tries. We try to replace God with false Gods and make them work for us. We try to help our anxiety with drugs and pornography, etc. or rely on ourselves, etc. The more we lean into the wrong things, the more messed up the situation gets because they aren’t meant to fill the hole you are trying to fill and it becomes more apparent and consequential for not fitting. We can see this progression in Romans 1 and all throughout our society. There is only one thing that can fit in that God shaped spot in a person’s life and that’s God. Let’s not fool ourselves by pretending to be able to fill it with something else and turn to God and repent of our sins.
